Pure Audio Expands

In its fifth year, Pure Audio, a Seattle commercial post-production recording studio, remains optimistic about growth in the Northwest market for recording services. “We stay in pretty close touch with our clients and we have all seen changes in regional ad production. But even though some large ad accounts have left town, we don’t anticipate a downturn.

“Actually, we see a lot of new opportunities,” said Paul Goldberg, co-owner of Pure Audio along with Matt Bien. “We continue to increase revenues every quarter, and that’s due in part to growth in Internet and long-form TV productions” added Bien.

Pure Audio has recently expanded into new space adjacent to its First Avenue location in Belltown and is adding three new digital audio workstations to complement its three existing rooms. “This is an effort to provide facilities tailored for large multi-media and entertainment projects, as well as for our smaller clients,” said Goldberg. “Sometimes we work for developing companies that aren’t ready to take advantage of a full-service studio like ours.” “Not every client needs surround sound or enough room in the booth for ten actors,” added Sabrina Manhas, Client Services Manager. “They may only need voice prompts and light sound design. We are expanding to accommodate that need as well as developing the critical mass required for larger projects.”

When you visit the Experience Music Project, the audio you hear on the Museum Exhibit Guides passed through Pure Audio first. Pure Audio also has produced award-winning work recently for Voicestream, The Bon Marche, and Microsoft, among others. Two national TV programs chose Pure Audio for their audio post-production as well. One was a pilot for the women’s travel series “Adventure Divas,” which aired on PBS in March, and “Conscience and the Constitution,” a documentary dealing with the internment of Japanese-Americans during the Second World War. It will run on PBS November 30th at 10:00 p.m.
